Notes
As prince sinks in water, he knows he is not alone, he is one of many reincarnated lives that people the following pages. In 9th Century Marv, pregnant Princess Leyth threatens to kill herself. Vision shifts to young Princess Shirin, who sneaks out of palace dressed as a boy after her father dismisses her beloved dancing teacher.
Elsewhere, Prince Yaahr storms out of his palace to climb a mountain, pursued by a peacock who transforms into a talking guardian beast. Shirin too falls in water, rescued from the well by a man who insists she is Layth, and he is Guilan. Tales of reincarnations flow in a collage of skeletons, chases, lions, and fire, culminate in a baby held high - "For her, only for her, must we die".
