Originally published in Shanghai by emigre Eduard Klauss of the New Star Company in November 1939. Following his death, original was 'lost'; a copy made by emigre Horst Eisfelder for Mr. Peter Witting (also an emigre) was sent to current Shanghai resident Ms. Tess Johnston, the person primarily responsible for the August 1995 edition. A 1993 reunion of former Jewish emigres resident in Shanghai, attended by Ms. Johnston, facilitated the reprinting. |
