Daring to Live / Memoirs of a survivor of the Holocaust (born 1927) from Grochów, a suburb of Warsaw. During the war, he was in and out of the ghetto of Warsaw, at times hiding on the "Aryan side", smuggling food into the ghetto, and living off the streets. He participated in the Warsaw uprising of August 1944, was captured by the Germans, imprisoned as a Polish POW, and forced to do slave labor in various camps in Germany. After the war, he emigrated to Palestine.
