The Daughter We Had Always Wanted - The Story of Marta / Marta Goren is a great-grandmother who lives with her husband, Amos, in Rehovot, Israel. Marta, who was born in Poland, was a child in the Holocaust. When she was eight years old, her mother in an attempt to save her, sent her under assumed identity from her birthplace Czortkow to the city of Warsaw.
The Daughter we had always wanted: The story of Marta is the story of a Jewish child who holds on to life in the difficult reality of loss and destruction, rebuilding her life in the State of Israel.
